Getting to Know Me!

Hello Blog World!

My name is Ryan and this is my first blog post ever! In a prior life I like to think I was a blogger like Carrie Bradshaw; witty, provocative, and honest. However this blog will be devoted to my journey through education, so it may be a bit more tame. I am currently working towards my masters in Instructional Design and Technology at Walden University. If you have never heard of Walden, it is because you cannot find it on the map! Walden is entirely online and while I never thought that I would attend an online university, I am loving every minute of being apart of the Walden community.

I currently have the privilege to teach 2nd grade in Baltimore, MD. I have the absolute best job in the world and everyday is a new adventure and learning experience. I have a big passion for student learning and engagement. Anyway that I can to engage my students, even the toughest ones, is a challenge I take pride in and successes that I celebrate. Aside from my job and education, I also like to maintain some sort of a personal life. I have been married to the love of my life for a little over a year and we have two dogs whom I adore. I try to stay active and am even in the process of training for the Baltimore Half Marathon this October! While it is a big feat, I am never one to shy from a challenge.
